Jimmie Jones

Jimmie M. Jones, 69 of Waxahachie, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2011 in Waxahachie. He was born to the late Marge M. and Betty Miller Jones on November 20, 1941 in Houston, Texas. Jim graduated from West Columbia High School then served in the United States Army. Following his service Jim worked many years in the auto parts industry. He had his insurance and broker's license and during his retirement years he often served as a substitute teacher for Midlothian ISD. Some of his fondest memories were with the kids in the debate classes. Jim loved his step children and grandchildren very much and he enjoyed going to their various sporting events and stock shows. His kind loving presence was a strong support and influence for all of his children and grandchildren over the years. He was there for them as long as his health would allow him. You could always depend on Papa. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Wanda Jones of Waxahachie; his daughters, Carla Stephenson and her husband, Mikel of Waxahachie, Teresa Evans and her husband, Todd of Waxahachie; his son, Gary W. Bogy and his wife, Kristi of Midlothian; his sisters, JoAnn Rabb of Angleton, Peggy Langley of West Columbia, Kathy Nutter and her husband, Gene of Sublime; his brothers, Larry Jones and his wife, Janice of Boise, Idaho, Marty Jones and his wife, Fran of West Columbia, Randy Jones and his wife, Sassie of Lake Jackson, David Jones and his wife, Sandy of Spring; and 9 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Nancy Jordon Jones; his infant son, Eugene Jones; his mother and father; and by his brothers-in-law, Daniel Rabb and F. Ray Langley. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home, Waxahachie. Services to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2011 at Baker Funeral Home, West Columbia, Texas. Interment will follow at the Cedar Lawn Haven of Rest Cemetery in West Columbia. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 12:00 Noon until service time at Baker Funeral Home on Friday, March 11, 2011 in West Columbia.
