Jim L. Skinner, devoted father and loving grandfather, passed away in Ferris Thursday. He was born and raised in Athens. He had been a Ferris resident for 25 years. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Betty Skinner of Ferris; daughters, Sylvia Owens and husband Doc of Groesbeck, Terry Crane and husband Ricky of Commerce, Patty Rulison of Red Oak, Sandy Davis and Chuck Little of Tyler, Debbie Dyer and husband Donald of Van Alstyne, Shirley Manzo and husband Fernando of Tempe, AZ., Shadara Stillman and husband Robert of Ferris, Stephanie Austin and husband Danny of Red Oak; Sons, Billy White and wife Stacey of Red Oak, Jason White and wife Lisa of Red Oak; 27 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Hunter and Tennie Skinner, and brother, James Hunter Skinner, Jr.

The Celebration of Life will be 10 AM, Monday, March 5, 2007 in the Red Oak Chapel with Pastor Paul Shearin officiating. Graveside and interment will be 3 PM in the Athens Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Red Oak Funeral Home.
