Jessie Salas

Jessie Vasquez Salas, went home to meet her heavenly father on Friday, September 13, 2019.  Jessie was born in Waxahachie, Texas on June 22, 1947 to Jessie Vasquez and Refugia Sanchez, who have both preceded her in death.  Jessie spent her early life in Waxahachie, Texas then moved to Dallas and the to Marietta, Georgia for a few years, before coming back to her home town a couple years ago.

During her early years, Jessie had a love for life and enjoyed listening to music, going out to eat with her family and friends and attending church.  Over the past year and a half, Jessie has made numerous friends during her stay at Ennis Care Center, both patients and care givers, who she loved just visiting and talking to or reading the scriptures with them daily.  She also loved playing games, such as the bi-weekly bingo games at the center and skip-bo with her friends.

Jessie was preceded in death by both her parents, and her three sisters, Delores Guerra, Janie Villarreal and Mary Longoria, who were waiting for her with open arms.

She is survived by her four sons, Alexander Vasquez, Arturo Roblez and wife Lelia, Ismael Roblez, Sr.and Eduardo Roblez.  Seven grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew, Amanda, Christopher and Alyssa Vasquez, Arturo Roblez, Jr.and Ismael Roblez, Jr. and nine great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by two brothers, Enis Longoria, Jr. and his wife Nancy and Steve Longoria and his wife Theresa, and one sister, Elizabeth Montez.  She is also survived by numerous cousins and nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Services to celebrate Jessie's life are scheduled for Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 10:00 am at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie with Jamie Duarte officiating> Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery.

Visitation with the family is scheduled for Tuesday, September 17, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
