Jessie Mitchell Phillips October 5, 1941 July 22, 2010 Jessie Mitchell Phillips, 68 of Waxahachie, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2010 at Baylor Medical Center of Waxahachie. He was born to the late Marion F. Phillips, Sr. and Rachel O. Spann Phillips on October 5, 1941 in Italy, Texas. Jessie worked for the Ellis County Road and Bridge, Precinct #3 as a mechanic. Jessie was dedicated to his work and his co-workers. He loved the outdoors and his passion was working on his Grand Torino. He was very proud of his car and always received looks and comments everywhere he drove it. Jessie was a people person, never meeting a stranger. Once you were Jessie's friend, you had a friend for life. He loved telling jokes and making people laugh. Jessie loved his family and spending time with them. He will be missed by so many. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Beckham Phillips of Waxahachie; his step son, Robert Alford and his wife, Angie of Waxahachie; his step daughter, Lisa Kelly and her husband, Larry of Russellville, AR; his sister, Evelyn Hocutt of Italy; his brother, M. F. Phillips and his wife Jodie of Grand Prairie; sisters, Nina Moore of Red Oak, Evie Allen and her husband, Roland of Ennis, Joyce Stewart and her husband, Billy of Waxahachie; his brother, Royce Phillips and his wife, Kathy of Forreston; his special friends, Arthur Newton of Red Oak and P. W. Phillips of Waxahachie; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Jenkins; and a niece, Judi Riojas. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, July 25, 2010 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home, Waxahachie.
