Jessie Beryl Boze, Age 84

Jessie was born the only daughter of Dr. D.A. and Dixie (Friend) Chisholm in Gustine, Texas. She graduated from Belton High School and from Daniel Baker College in Brownwood where she majored in English and received her pilot's license. Jessie also graduated form Nursing School at John Sealey in Galveston where she became a registered nurse. She was working at Parkland Hospital in Dallas when her father, current pastor of First Methodist Church in Waxahachie, introduced her to her future husband. Jessie married Patrick W. Boze June 7, 1944 in Waxahachie. She has been an active member of the First United Methodist Church for 60 years being on numerous committees, chancel choir, early service choir, Fidelis Sunday School Class, Women's Circle and a strong supporter of Missions. For several years she has led the Joy Singers singing at local nursing facilities. Her faith was her life. She was always concerned about her children, friends and her country.
She is survived by her four children, eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren: Wayne Boze and his wife Maggie of Waxahachie, their children, Billie Manz and husband Duane and children Sara and Alex of Houston, Pat Boze and his wife Darcy of Lawton, OK., J. D. Boze of Waxahachie; Laura Morton of Arlington, her children: Dan Morton, Jr. and wife Gwenean, their children: Luke, Rylie, Abbie, Macie all of Waxahachie, Heidi Smith and her husband Gregg, their children, Chad, Jake, Shelby Kaye of Arlington, Nancy Boze of Waxahachie, her children, Melody Kirk and husband Kyle, their children Tanner and Landri all of Waxahachie, Heather Smith and husband Clay; Amber Skipper and husband Joel and their daughter Abi; Bettie Roark of Waxahachie, her children, Rip Roark and wife Lisa, their son Colton of Carrizo Springs, Brandon of Ohio and Cody Roark of Tyler. . Also surviving is her sister-in-law, Ann Chisholm of Ft. Worth and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Donald and Jakie, grandson, Roby, and her husband of 53 years, Pat Boze.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 4 to 6 PM Saturday, October 23, 2004 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 2 PM Sunday, October 24, 2004 at the Waxahachie Bible Church, 621 N. Grand, with Pastor Bruce Zimmerman, Pastor David Brown and Dr. Richard Reed officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Burial Park. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be great grandsons and grandsons-in-law.
Memorials may be made to the Organ Fund of the First United Methodist Church, 505 W. Marvin Ave., Waxahachie, Texas 75165.
