Jesse Hamilton Ratliff, beloved father and brother, age 59 of Waxahachie, Texas died Wednesday morning, January 23, 2008 at home.

He was born September 20, 1948 in Abilene, Texas, the son of James Edwin and Esther Ophelia Ratliff. Upon graduating from Waxahachie High School in 1967, he enlisted in the United States Army serving with the 160th and 55th Engineering Detachments in Vietnam. Following active duty, he continued to serve his country with the Waxahachie Army National Guard. He also served his community as a law enforcement officer for nearly 20 years. Prior to his death, he was employed with Music T's as a maintenance engineer.

Jesse is survived by his children, Larry Ratliff of Claremont, NC, Audra Ratliff of Newport, RI, Stephen Ratliff of Texas. He is also survived by grandson Luke Ratliff of Claremont, NC, sisters Martha Ratliff of Waxahachie, Letha Spinks of Brewton, AL, Sandra Ratliff of Waxahachie, Betty Rider of Waxahachie, an aunt Patsy Mashburn of Abilene, nephew Joshua Rider of Waxahachie, and numerous other nieces and nephews across Texas and Alabama.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 to 8 PM Friday evening at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 2 PM Saturday, January 26, 2008 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home with Jim Broome Officiating. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Steve Jones, Paul Proctor, Nate Eggleston, Ricky Hill, Ricky Hill Jr., John Fuller, Rick Shinpaugh.

The family request that Memorial Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
