Jenna Beth Shafer McAlister, 80 of Maypearl, passed away Sunday morning, November 19, 2017 in Midlothian, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Sunday, December 27, 1936 in Whitney, Texas to the late Milton and Vivian Cheek Shafer.
Jenna Beth graduated from Whitney High School and attended North Texas University in Denton. She married the love of her life, Don McAlister, on September 23, 1956 in Durant, OK. Jenna retired from Price Waterhouse Accounting as an administrative… assistant. She was a member of the Maypearl Church of Christ where she taught Sunday School for 35 years. She enjoyed genealogy, antiquing, journaling, painting, sewing, decorating, traveling and especially singing. With her angelic voice, she contributed to many special events and memorable occasions. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed and forever loved by so many.
She is survived by her loving husband, Don E. McAlister; her children, Jedonna Adams, Kyle McAlister and his wife, Leighanne McAlister, Andra Dudley and her husband, Robert and Leah McAlister; her brother, Sanger Shafer and his wife, Tracy; her sister-in-law, Marcene Hinde and her husband, Don; her sister-in-law, Barbara Dollins; her grandchildren, Ryon Orendain and Michael Orendain, Aaron McAlister and Keisha McAlister; Brittany Chadwick and Neil Chadwick, Shafer McAlister, Drew Dudley and Lauren Dudley; Jordan Rivera and Fabian Rivera, Chase Weand and Jana Kay Walker, Savannah Weand, Elton Andres; her great grandchildren, Sophia Orendain, Alex Orendain, Morgan McAlister, Laney McAlister, Gage McAlister, Conner Chadwick, Garrett Chadwick, Phoenix Rivera, Audrey Dudley and Brantley Petsch; she was also survived by her lifelong friends, Joe and Jane Ellis.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Milton and Vivian Shafer.
Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2017 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with James Beam officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Branch Cemetery in Maypearl. Visitation for family and friends will be held from Noon until service time on Tuesday.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Maypearl Church of Christ, P. O.
