JC Story, 91 of Waxahachie, TX, went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Saturday, May 20, 2017. JC was born on Saturday, August 28, 1926 to Cicero and Esma Story in Boyce, TX. JC persuaded his Mother to give her consent and he enlist in the Navy at the age of 17. JC saw action at the Battles of Guadalcanal and Okinawa. He earned several decorations and two Battle Stars. He served 3 years in the Navy and upon returning to Texas, he met and married Betty F. Rudd. They were married on August 27, 1949. Their union continued for 68 years. JC and Betty had two sons, James Michael Story and Terry Lynn Story. JC was a member of the Waxahachie Police Force at the rank of Lieutenant and served his community for 10 years. Following that he worked at LTV Aeronautics in Grand Prairie until retirement. He served for several years as a Deacon at South Prong Baptist Church until his death.
JC is survived by his wife, Betty Story, son, James Michael Story of Waco, TX and wife, Faye Coley Story, Terry Lynn Story of Virginia and wife, Susan Helms Story; five grandchildren, Sarah Story Klein Masterson and her husband, Noah; Carrie Story Livesay of, and her husband, Russell; Elizabeth Story Shahan and her husband Brian; Aundra Nicole Story, Ryan Arnel Story, TX and wife, Katie. Also surviving JC are his eight great-grandchildren, Michael Clarke Livesay, Charlotte Faye Livesay, Kathryn Leigh Livesay, Amelia Elaine Livesay, Ava Louise Masterson, John Charles Masterson, Lucian Rose Shahan, and Jones McCluer Shahan. Also surviving JC are his very special neighbors, Linda and Steven Pena. JC is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews from the Story and Rudd families.
JC was preceded in death by his parents, Cicero Story, Esma Story, brother, Billy Wayne Story, sisters, Lucille Story Isom and Helen Story Kirby.
JC was a member of the South Prong Baptist Church. He had a great love for his church and was active until he began to decline with his illness. JC was a very proud Father and Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather. It was his delight to have them visit and see as many pictures of them as possible. His love for his family was obvious to all around him.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home located in Waxahachie. Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Burial Park.
