Jay Brent Harris, age 53

After a long hard battle with cancer Jay B Harris passed away early Thursday morning at his residence with his family at his side.
Jay was born in Lubbock, Texas to Elden and Frances Jeaninne (Moore) Harris. He graduated from Carter High School in Dallas and attended Texas Tech at Lubbock for 2 years. Jay married Mary Baker April 13, 1984 in Uvalde, Texas.

Jay led a full life as a husband, father, leader, mentor, friend, adventurer and artist. He considered himself blessed to be able to provide for his family by creating fine custom cabinets. He had many adventures in his life traveling and exploring his world. He has climbed mountains, biked across this nation, and crossed oceans. One of his last statements to a close friend was said with a smile " you could not imagine the places I have been". His greatest passions were God and family. He spent his life always active in his community and church sharing his faith through generous actions, words of support and encouragement.

He leaves behind his wife Mary of 25 joyous years, and 5 beautiful children; Davin Brent, Kristin, Brady, Lisa, and Noel. Also surviving are 3 brothers and 1 sister. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will have a gathering of friends and relatives from 7 to 9 PM, Tuesday evening at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at the Waxahachie Bible Church with Bruce Zimmerman and Robbie Goldman officiating.

The family request that memorials be made to the Creekside Church of Christ or the Dry Bones Ministry.
