Jason Shane Bowman passed away in his home on September 23, 2007. He was 31 years old. A beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, Jason was also a creative spirit and gifted poet
Born in Abilene, Texas on December 5, 1975, Jason was blessed with opportunities to travel abroad. As a young boy, he spent 4 years in Hawaii and, later, enjoyed time in Colorado and Europe. After attending Red Oak High School, Jason remained in the Dallas area and began a career in auto restoration and custom conversions with his dad, and later with JR's Custom Auto. Most recently, he shared his welding experience with the "2 a T" company in Waxahachie. Jason's vibrancy, quick wit, and strong work ethic served him well.
He was as kind as he was colorful - finding homes for stray animals and stopping at nothing to spur a rise or laughter from anyone willing to be his audience. Being with Jason was often like being an "extra" in a Jim Carey movie. As a young student, many of Jason's teachers weren't fans of his "clowning", but his classmates fondly remember his uncanny ability to turn a dull subject into a comedy hour.
Jason is preceded in death by his beloved brother, John Michael Bowman, grandfather, John Bowman and grandmother, Jean Ballard. He is survived by his wife, Skye, his son, Ocean Johnavan Shane, his parents, Jerry and Jackie Bowman of Red Oak, TX and Debra and Keith Baron of Colorado Springs, CO, his sisters, Michele Sparks of McAllen, TX and Renee Quinn of Irving, TX, and grandmother, Jane Bowman of Merkel, TX, one niece, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service for Jason will be held at Red Oak Funeral Home at 120 N. HWY 342 on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at 2:00PM.
