Janice Greenwood

Janice McMahon Greenwood, age 87, passed away in Waxahachie, Texas on January 06, 2014. She was born July 25, 1926 in Shelby County, Texas to Homer and Freddie (Lynch) McMahon. She was reared in Shelby County, Texas and moved to Dallas, Texas after graduating from Shelbyville High School in 1944. She married L. F. "Buster" Greenwood on June 22, 1946. Janice and Buster lived in Duncanville, Texas from 1952 until 1971 when they moved to their farm in Whitney, Texas. Before moving to Whitney, she graduated from the Vocational Nursing Program at Dallas Independent School District in 1970. While living in Whitney, she worked at both the Whitney Hospital and Whitney Nursing Home. Because of Buster's failing health, they sold their farm and moved to Waxahachie in 2000. She was a member of the Ferris Heights United Methodist Church. She was a loving Mother and Grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her children, Judy Pollock and husband Larry, Floyd Greenwood and wife Laura and Brenda Hogue and husband Hughie; eight grandchildren, Michele, Carla, Beverly, April, Matthew, Amy, Lee and Christine; thirteen great-grandchildren, Joshua, Kayla, Julie, Kamryn, Blake, Trevor, Abby, Logan, Grayson, Lily, Brody, Reese and Charlee, her brother, Billy Ray McMahon and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, L. F. "Buster" Greenwood; her parents, Homer McMahon and Freddie Lynch; and sisters, Phoebe Sargent, Leola Winnett and Jerlene Cole. Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 1:00 PM Friday, January 10, 2014 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel with Jerry Bloomfield officiating. Interment will follow at the Hillcrest Garden of Memory in Hillsboro, Texas. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, January 09, 2014 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
