Jane Jarratt

September 16, 1927 — September 30, 2017

Jarratt, Jane passed away peacefully in her home on September 30, 2017. She was born to James William Sawyer and Edna Halloween Price Sawyer of Waxahachie, Texas. She enjoyed spending time with family, friends, beloved pets and her many horses. Friends and neighbors were always at her home, where her mother was famously known around town for her cooking and her beautiful gift of entertaining.

Jane graduated from Waxahachie High School and attended college at North Texas State University. She married Joe Jarratt Jr. on November 9, 1957 and moved to Fort Worth where they resided for over 60 years. Jane made her career at Frigidaire, a division of GM, for fourteen years. After Joe retired from Dalworth Trucking Company, Jane and Joe spent most of their time at Joe's family farm in Bell Branch, Texas where they raised quarter horses, mammoth paint donkeys and other animals. They loved to attend shows around the country each year to show their prize-winning donkeys. Jane and Joe enjoyed travels to Europe, Alaska, Canada, New England and Las Vegas, as well many family vacations to Hawaii, Colorado, and New Mexico. They also enjoyed entertaining family at the Ft Worth Club and Petroleum Club. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family at their home.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Billy Dud Sawyer and Charles Robert Sawyer.

Jane is survived by husband of 60 years, Joe Jarratt Jr., their daughter, Janet Forrest Jarratt Tenery and husband Dr. Robert Mayo Tenery Jr. of Dallas; two grandchildren and their spouses; Trey Tenery and wife Angela of Lindale, Texas, Robyn Blakeney and husband Gene of Austin, Texas.
