Jane Blevins, age 75

Mrs. Blevins went to be with her lord while in the company of her family Thursday afternoon. She was born in Boz, Texas to Charles M and Rheda Mae (Whitefield) Maxwell. Jane was a graduate of Waxahachie High School and attended Texas Women's University. She married Richard Blevins February 3, 1951 in Waxahachie. Mrs. Blevin owned and operated Old Main Flowers and Gifts for 12 years while raising her 3 children. She also was a member of the Gingerbread Homemakers, Widows Club, and Business Womens Club.
She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church where she was a longtime Childrens Sunday school teacher, Member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class, UMW, Joy Ministries, and MYF Sponsor. She was currently a member of the Waxahachie Bible Church involved in Pastoral Care, Shepherding Our Sisters, and Heart to Heart
She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and treasured friend. She was vivaious, energetic, adventerous,compassionate, talented, and funny. Her goal in life was to reflect Christ and to be a living example to others. For everone who knew her and loved her and especially for those who surrounded her during the last weeks of her life, she demonstrated this commitment time and time again. She was totally and completely devoted to her family and friends. These verses describe her best:
She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her. Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all. (Proverbs 31:26-29)
Surviving her are three Children: Steven W Blevins and his wife Karen, Phil Blevins and his wife Lori, Lisa Crouch and her husband Scott all of Waxahachie, Seven grandchildren; Mason C Blevins and his wife Angela of Garland, Kevin Crouch, Ami Trull and her husband Jay, Ashley Oakley and her husband Billy, Kelsie Crouch all of Waxahachie, Stefanie Blevins of Port Lavaca, Allison Blevins and great grandson Jackson Trull both of Waxahachie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 grandchildren, and 1 brother.
The family will recieve friends and relatives from 6 to 8 PM Sunday evening at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of her Life will be 10 AM Monday, June 4, 2007 at the Waxahachie Bible Church with Bruce Zimmerman and George Rutenbar officiating.
