Jan Beckham, age 85, peacefully left this life on Easter Sunday, at her home, April 1, 2018. She was born to Jane Skaggs King and James Taylor King in Waxahachie, TX, on July 4, 1932. She graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1949, and later attended Hill Co. Jr. College in Hillsboro, TX. Jan worked for many years in the insurance sales business in Dallas.
She married Eugene Ray Beckham on March 16, 1964 in Waxahachie at First United Methodist Church. Jan and Gene were married until Gene's passing on October 4, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her baby brother, James Taylor King, Jr., and her parents in 1972.
She is survived by Gene's daughter, Rebecca Ann Beckham, of Dallas, and a host of cousins and friends.
Jan lived all of her life in Waxahachie. As a child, her main interests were horses, cats, and her beloved dog, Tag. Her passion for animals continued throughout her life. Later in life, Jan became interested in collecting and selling antiques in several malls in Arlington, Dallas, and Waxahachie. Jan spent her summers at Woodland Park, Colorado; enjoying Pikes Peak the area and friends.
Visitation for Jan will be Thursday, April 5, 2018, at 1:00 P. M. at Wayne Boze Funeral Home, located at 1826 West U.S. Highway 287, Waxahachie, TX. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 P. M. at Waxahachie City Cemetery
Jan will be buried beside Gene. She will be remembered by her family and friends as a fun-loving, friendly lady. She will be missed by many!
