James Floyd Terry, Jr., 75 of Waxahachie, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2009 at his residence. He was born to the late James Floyd Terry, Sr. and Edna Bertie Terry on August 17, 1935.
James liked all sports especially the Dallas Cowboys and the Dallas Mavericks. He participated in sports all of his life and then refereed softball, football and basketball. He was a good provider, devoted husband, and a very attentive loving father. He was always there for the task at hand and a very hard worker. He was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church and loved his church family. James will be missed by so many who knew him and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lula May Terry of Waxahachie; his daughter, Candice Terry Shelton and her husband, Charles of Lancaster; his grandchildren, Tamara Fisher of Waxahachie, Brice Vaughn and James Lee Vaughn, both of Palmer.
He was preceded in death by his son, James Adrian Terry, his brothers, Jimmy Odell Terry and Benny Ray Terry.
Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2009 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Mouery officiating. Interment will follow with military honors at the Odom Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
The family request donations be made to the Spring Creek Baptist Church, 2848 Brown Street, Waxahachie, Texas 75165.
