James N. Sterling passed away at the VA Hospital in Dallas. He was born June 8, 1933 to William Hayden Sterling, SR. and Lida Nance Sterling. James was a 1951 graduate of Sunset High School in Dallas and attended NTAC in Arlington, Texas. Jim was a Union sheet metal worker and past president of Local 68. He was a Master Mason. He loved his God, family, friends and country. May he rest in peace.
His survivors include: his wife, Barbara Sterling; four children, Bobee Kay Strickland and husband Robert, Rebecca Lynn Sterling and James Norman Sterling, Jr., all of Dallas, and Mike Haden Sterling and wife Sheila of Terrell, TX.; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one half great-great grandchild; brothers, Bill of Virginia and Pat of Ferris; sister-in-law Joan and husband Archie Robinson; and many dear, dear friends.
A memorial and visitation with family and friends will be 6 PM Sunday, August 19, 2007 at the Red Oak Funeral Home. Inurnment is scheduled for 11 AM Monday, August 20, 2007 at the DFW National Cemetery, Dallas.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Red Oak Funeral Home.
