James Claude Sharp, 86, of Waxahachie, Texas, died on Monday, December 9, 2024. A memorial service to celebrate James' life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December14, 2024, at the Robinson Cemetery, 620 E. Stegall Drive in Robinson, Texas.
James' family includes his two children: daughter, Kimmy Gail & husband Gary Watts of Waxahachie; son, Stephen Claude & wife Melani Sharp of Bosque County; two grandchildren: Chelsea Nicole & husband Clinton Styles, and Ryan Michelle Vestal; four great-grandchildren: Austin James Lambert, Caleb Alexander Lambert, Cheyenne Hope Vestal, and Lainey Jean Styles; one brother, Tommy Gene Sharp of Poyner, Texas along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Loving and Lovely wife of 54 years, Betty Jean (Young); parents, Claude Wilson and Clara Mae (Reed) Sharp.
James was born May 23, 1938, in Bruceville-Eddy, Texas and graduated from Waco High. He moved to Dallas and established himself in the Cotton Exchange world of Commodities Import/Export. Betty joined him from Waco to Dallas, and they wed May 31, 1958. They started the early years in Oak Cliff, then moving to several cities and states. During the years together they did fairly extensive international travel through the Commodities Industries.
James was an Amateur Radio Operator and on this day N5WOB key went silent.
