James Schoolfield

Waxahachie

Bob Schoolfield, 83 years of age, passed away peacefully at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Dallas on Wednesday January 29th, 2020 at about 7pm.

Bob was born in Granbury in 1936 as the middle of three sons to John and Dovie Schoolfield. He is a graduate of Pampa High School and West Texas State University.  Immediately following college graduation he served two years in the United States Navy aboard ship in the Western Pacific.  Following his honorable discharge he work tirelessly for decades as flooring material marketer and salesman in Texas.  Bob and Casey moved to Waxahachie in 1975 with their two young children where they restored and occupied a historical home on Main Street participating in Waxahchie Historical Society events and the Gingerbread trail for many years. His passion was farm and ranch work.  Bob spent 40 years developing a farm in Limestone County.  Bob and Casey are long time members of the Brown Street Church of Christ.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents John and Dovie Schoolfield of Granbury, his brother Ernest Lynn Schoolfield of Birmingham, and his daughter-in-law Kayse Caldwell Schoolfield of Waxahachie.  Bob is survived by his wife of 53 years Peggy Casey Schoolfield of Waxahachie.  Bob is also survived by the following family members: his brother John Schoolfield and his wife Martha of Aledo. His eldest son: Clay Schoolfield, Clay’s wife Haley, and their two children Lane and Jessica of Waxahachie.  His youngest son Colonel Sam Schoolfield, US Marines, Sam’s wife Robin, and their four children Sam, Jr., Jack, Abraham, and Scarlett presently stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Bob has five nieces and nephews John, Stacy, Anna, Mason, and Nathanial along with numerous cousins throughout Texas.

Visitation is planned at Brown Street Church of Christ at 1pm on Monday 3 February 2020 followed by a Memorial Service at 2pm.  In lieu of flower Casey request donations be made to the charity of your choice in his honor.
