James Michael McGaha, passed away suddenly in Ft Worth, Texas, February 29th, 2024 and went to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 69. Born on November 6th, 1954 in San Antonio, Texas. Preceded in death by his parents James Leonard McGaha and Frankie Ella Weaver McGaha. James spent his early school years in Owens Cross Roads, Alabama near many close family members. James loved the outdoors, fishing in the Flint River, swimming in Lake Guntersville, and hunting in the wooded areas around Possum Holler, and playing in nearby cotton fields. The family returned to Texas in 1968, he attended schools in Ft Worth, Arlington, Weatherford, Littlefield, Boyd, graduating from Waxahachie High School, Waxahachie, TX in 1974.
James served in the United States Air Force as a jet engine mechanic, he was stationed at Lackland AFB, TX; Champaign, Illinois; and Minot, North Dakota. He was employed in the aeronautical and oil industry as a jet engine mechanic, with Cummings Diesel, Sola, General Electric, and The Wood Group…After retiring, James enjoyed fishing with his brothers and his son and had dreams of moving to the country.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Melvis Monserratt McGaha of Katy, TX; his son Christopher Michael McGaha of Dublin, Texas and his children Kaden Julian, Kylie McGaha, Kelcie McGaha, and Ezekiel Michael McGaha; daughter, Michelle McGaha Medina, husband Fernando Medina, and son Fernando Medina Jr. of St Louis, MO; and daughter Mirielle McGaha, of Katy, TX. His sister, Theresa Medlin, of Italy, Texas; Timothy McGaha and his wife Judy of New Braunfels, TX; Joseph Steven McGaha and his wife Karen of Nixon, TX; Denise McGaha Cornett and her husband Durham, of Waxahachie, TX; Terri Hulshouser, of Lubbock, TX. Lovingly remembered by 17 Nieces & Nephews; 37 Great Nieces & Nephews…and many family members and friends in the great States of Texas and Alabama.
Visitation, will be held at Wayne Boze Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 5th at 10 AM, services will follow immediately at 11 AM. Interment will be at Italy Cemetery, in Italy, Texas immediately following the services.
