James T. Maynard, age 79

Mr. Maynard passed away Thursday morning at Baylor Medical Center, Waxahachie. He was born in to Norman and Etta (Stokeley) Maynard Memphis, TN. He graduated from High School in New Orleans, attended Tulane University for two years and the University of Missouri for one year. He served in the US Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theatre (Phillipines). Shortly after his discharge he became a crop duster in Oklahoma and the North Texas area which became his lifetime career. He retired in 1988 in Texas. Mr. Maynard was involved in the McKinney Pinto Riding Club, Wylie Saddle Club and the Midlothian Saddle Club. He was a member of the American Crop Duster Association, attending their conventions every year in Las Vegas. Mr. Maynard moved to Texas in February of this year from Mayhill, New Mexico. He was an avid fisherman and had a lifelong love of horses and the outdoors.

Survivors are: son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Susan Maynard of Mayhill, NM; daughters, Linda Moreau and husband Jon of Kingsland, TX., Becky Roland and husband Johnny of Midlothian, and Pat Gauss of Kemp, TX.; sisters, Alma Ann Maynard, Dr. Margaret Maynard Scheuermann of Atlant, GA., Martha Maynard Hoskins of Jackson, MS., Mildred Maynard Kincaid (A.W.) of Keizer, OR., and Wilba Jean Maynard of Chicago, IL; nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Kathryn, and brothers, Hal and Norman.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Saturday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of his Life will be 2 PM Sunday, July 3, 2005 at the Frontier Church, Waxahachie, with Pastor Ken Ansell officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Midlothian, Texas.
