James Leroy Hammond

James LeRoy Hammond left this earthly world January 15, 2024.  He was born on October 3rd, 1942 to Roy and Sibyl Hammond.  Both parents proceeded him in death.  Jim is survived by brother Bill and wife Glenda Charlene Hammond, Jerry and wife Darlene Hammond.  He is also survived by five children James Hammond II, Jolene Hays, Nanette Windham, Traci Reeves, and Shauna Schreiner.  

Jim went from High School to the USMC on Feb 29th 1960 and served through Sept 8th 1966.  He chose auto paint and body for career work spanning 35 years.  Also Jim drove cross country with Sharon before retiring after 10 years in 2015.  

In July 1992 Roger and Theresa Hill introduced Jim to Sharon Wammack.  Two weeks into their relationship, Sharon told Jim "You better run!"  Two weeks later Jim said "It's too late to run now!"  They were married that December.

Jim's passion was riding motorcycles, he shared many miles with fellow riders.  He was a member of American legion post 424 Dallas and the American legion riders.
