Seamus James "Jim" Malachy Gallagher lost his battle with cancer on February 16, 2008 at his home in Waxahachie, with his devoted wife and family at his bedside.
Born April 30, 1933 in Omagh, Northern Ireland, Jim moved to Dallas, Texas in 1966 and has been a resident of Waxahachie for 28 years.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sherry Louise Potter, daughters; Faustina, Yvonne, Yvette and Antoinette, mother of daughters Bridget; grandchildren, Bridie, Latashia, Whitney, Erin, Nathan, Kelly; great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Coyt; brothers & sisters, Michael, Irene, Margaret, Kieren, Gloria, son in laws; Kenneth and R.J., numerous nieces and nephews; closest friends and caregivers, Tony and Katherine; and a host of relatives and friends that he loved.
He was at peace with his life, his family, his friends, and with God.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2008 with a Rosary prayer service beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Guadagnoli and Father Paul serving as celebrants. Interment will follow at the Italy Cemetery.
