James Wesley Fugett Sr. (Jim), of Red Oak TX 76, died from a short battle with Cancer February 14, 2022 at his home with family by his side. He was born June 26, 1945, in Oklahoma City, Ok. the son of Rufus A. Fugett and Anna J. Fugett.
Jim graduated from Crozier Tech High School Dallas TX, Class of 1963. Following graduation, he worked for Frito Lay until 1966. Jim joined the U.S. Army on April 12, 1966 and served in the 25th Infantry Division Vietnam until honorably discharged with a Purple Heart September 6, 1967. Medals and Badges Awarded during his time in service; Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Sharpshooter (M-14), and Parachute Badge. Jim Married Linda Martin May 5, 1968 where they were married for 18 years. Jim worked as a Printer, Glazer at Oak Cliff Glass & Mirror, Haley Greer and Fugett Small Engine Repair. Jim especially loved Fishing, playing in pool tournaments and bowling in Bowling leagues. Jim was a very kind hearted, loving and caring person that loved helping others. In addition to his parents Rufus A. Fugett and Anna J. Fugett, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca J. Richards and brother Ronald A. Fugett. Remaining to cherish Jim’s memory are daughters, Jessaca Kordsmeier and husband, Andy of Tyler TX; Rita Sanchez and husband, Franky of Waxahachie TX; Sons, James Fugett Jr and Girl Friend, Kerri of Red Oak TX; Brian Fugett and wife, Brandi of Frankston TX; Twelve grandchildren, Wesley Redd, Justin Redd, Stevan Sparks, Miranda Bryant, Jessica Fugett, James Fugett III, Allyson Fugett, Brian Fugett Jr., Austin Fugett, Delaney Fugett, Nick Fugett, Presley Thompson. Ten Great grandchildren, Walker, Kelton, Henley, Parker, Sloane, Ava, Asa, JJ, Peyton and Austin Jr. A twin Brother John L. Fugett and Wife Tessie of Bumpass, VA: One sister Patricia L. Banister of Venus TX; and Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
