James Crawford

James Ronald Crawford, 78, passed away on January 11, 2017 at his home in Waxahachie. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 10:30 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 2418 Brown Street in Waxahachie. Interment will directly follow funeral services at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas. Visitation with the family will be observed from 6-8 PM on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home located at 1826 W. Highway 287 Business in Waxahachie.

James was born on November 3, 1938 in Hillsboro, Texas to Earl and Ethel Crawford. He served 4 years in the United States Air Force and retired from the US Post Office in Dallas after 50 years. James loved spending time with his family and granddaughter. He enjoyed playing golf, going to the movies and singing. He was a wonderful Husband, Dad, Grandfather, Uncle, Brother in-law and Father in-law. His family will miss him deeply.

James was preceded in death by his parents; son, Douglas Wayne Crawford; and siblings, Richard Crawford and Peggy Fain.

He leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Betty Crawford; children, Misty Vigil and her husband, Sergio, Sabrina Yrlas and her husband, Daniel, and James Crawford II; grandchild, Sarah Amanda Russell; step grandchildren, Ryan Yrlas and Jake Yrlas; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers include Ed Smith, Tom Settlemyer, Scott Settlemyer, Dean Settlemyer, Ryan Yrlas and Jake Yrlas. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Settlemyer and Michael Settlemyer III.

Wayne Boze Funeral Home of Waxahachie is in charge of the arrangements.
