James L. Cox, Jr. August 27, 1931 November 03, 2011 James L Cox, Jr. died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 80. He was born in Italy, TX August 27, 1931 to Hattie and James L Cox Sr. After High School, he joined the Army and served from 1958-1960. He married Betty Cox in 1958 and they were married 53 years. He retired from the Texas Highway Department after 25 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with his family. He was a long time resident of Waxahachie and enjoyed spending time outdoors and meeting people. Everyone loved and respected him and he will be missed. James is survived by his wife Betty, one brother, Preston, a son Ricky, his daughter Sherry Sharp, daughter Tammy Jones and husband Jim, grandchildren: Casey Sullivan and husband Todd, Jeremy Powers, Justin Golden and wife Ashley and grandson Aaron Golden, Brittany Cervantes and husband Juan, Barry Sharp Jr., Conner, Wes and Allison Jones. Great Grandchildren Alexis Hackett, Christian and Shawn Sullivan, Faith, Bailey and Jeremy Powers Jr., Hunter and Adisyn Golden . Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 10:00 AM Monday, November 07, 2011 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Rev. Todd Grimes officiating. Interment will follow at the Forreston Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday, November 06, 2011 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
