James Franklin Carter, age 59

Mr. James Carter passed away Tuesday morning at Baylor Medical Center, Waxahachie. He was born in Houston, TX. to James and Guendale (Canterberry) Carter. He attended Houston Schools, then served in Vietnam 1965-67 in the US Army. Mr. Carter moved to Ellis County in the 1980's. He owned and operated Carter's Feed Etc. in Midlothian. James was an avid deer hunter and liked horses. He married Annie Murray July 30, 2000.

His survivors include: wife, Annie Murray Carter; step-children, Wendy Holloway and husband Gary, Amanda Harkins and husband Matt, and Andrew Carter, all of Waxahachie, daughter, April Carter of Dallas; brother, John Carter and his wife Jacki of Houston; step-grandchildren, Jared Nay, Jonathan Holloway, Caleb Holloway, Alora Nay, Tanner Harkins, and Wyatt Harkins. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Norma Allen.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Friday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 10 AM Saturday, October 22, 2005 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Todd Grimes and Pastor J. R. Taylor officiating. Pallbearers will be Dan Mauldin, Pat A. Sibley, Wayland Bowers, Sonny Murray, Jack Murray and Chris Popehopien. Interment will be 2 PM Monday at the DFW National Cemetery in Dallas.

Memorials may be made to the Bible Baptist Church Building Fund, 1208 Ferris Ave., Waxahachie, TX. 75165.
