James Ray Brogdon, age 64

Mr. Brogdon passed away early Sunday morning at his residence in Waxahachie. Mr. Brogdon was born in Bennett, Texas one of ten children to Albert C and Gladys (Brown) Brogdon. James married Doris Lyon June 10, 1961 in Lancaster, Texas. He was a roofer owning Brogdon Roofing for 47 years. He had been a member of the IOOF for 14 years and was a member of the Evangel Temple Assembly of God Church.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Doris Brogdon: three sons, Randy Brogdon and his wife Cindy of Forreston, Steven R. Brogdon and his wife Laura of Italy, and Mark W. Brogdon and his wife Angel of Palmer; five brothers, Jack and his wife Imogene of Amarillo, Roy and his wife Betty of Cool, J A and his wife Kathy of Bennett, Albert and his wife Pauline of Proctor, and David of Mineral Wells; two sisters, Helen Patterson and her husband Wendell of Mineral Wells, and Linda Eagle and her husband Herman of Saracoxie, Missouri; 9 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys and Albert Brogdon and two sisters Margarete and Peggy.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 to 9 PM Friday evening at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 2 PM Saturday, August 11, 2007 at the Evangel Temple Assembly of God Church, 1264 N. IH35E, Waxahachie, TX with John Bates and Jerry Bloomfield officiating. Interment will follow at the Rosemont Memorial Park in Waxahachie.

Pallbearers will be: Cecil Brogdon II, Steven Brogdon II, Justin Brogdon, Kerry Huskins, Clint Sigler,Clark Davis, Mark Thornton, and James Steele. Honorary pallbearers will be: Chance Crawford, John Davis, Logan Crawford, and Phillip Huskins.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
