James “Butch” William Billings
October 13, 1946 – March 14, 2020
James “Butch” Billings was born in Waxahachie, Texas on October 13, 1946 to Leonard Billings and Etha Culver Hamby. He passed away on March 14,2020 surrounded by his loving family. He married the love of his life, Loretta, on December 30, 1965.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father and step mother, Laura Billings, sisters Cynthia Gentry and Ira Faye Eggleston.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Loretta Billings, son James Billings and wife Tammy of Waxahachie; son Clint Billings and husband Larry Cook of Dallas. He is also survived by grandchildren Shane Billings, Erica Trojacek, Ashley Billings, Dalton Billings and their spouses; 6 great grandchildren, and wife's brother Eddie Green and wife Cheryl, sisters Rita Mae Richards and Carrie (Little Beth) Sartor and many nieces and nephews.
Never one to boast, Butch was the recipient of numerous awards for distinguished service during the Viet Nam conflict including the Bronze Star.
A simple man, Butch loved nothing more than sitting on the front porch surrounded by his family, friends, dogs and goats. Butch was an accomplished carpenter and avid hunter. He was loved by all who knew him and warmed by the light of his eyes and smile.
Pallbearers will be Shane Billings, Dalton Billings, Cody Trojacek, Michael Seeton, Wesly Seeton and Aaron Dlabaj.
