On the evening of June 30th, 2009 James Barnard, of Waxahachie moved on to live in the house of the Lord. James & Mary Barnard were married October 14th, 1949 and had 59 years and 8 months of wonderful marriage. James served the Lord, his Family and his Country, in that order. James was an excellent Husband, wonderful father, hard working provider and was full of love for his whole family.
James was a solid Christian man and was ordained Deacon, in the Baptist Church, in 1962 at Central Baptist Church in Lancaster, Texas. He faithfully served in this capacity until he declared himself inactive in 2008.
Under his leadership, guidance and example all four of his children have been saved as well as all of his grandchildren.
James is survived by his four children: James Warren Barnard, Carol Cather, Larry Barnard and Steven Barnard, his six grandchildren: Trey Clark, Mitzi Clark, Justin Barnard, Candice Barnard, Kristin Barnard, and Matthew Barnard, and two great-grandchildren: Brooks Robbins and Hayden James Clark, two sisters, and one brother, also numerous nieces and nephews.
James will be remembered by all for his selfless love and devotion to family and community.
Visitation will be 6 - 8:00 PM Thursday at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Services will be 10:00 AM Friday at Farley Street Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Burnaman and Rev. Richard Smith officiating. Pallbearers are: Devon Smith, Jon Mathers, Jody Mathers, Mark Alaniz, Harold Barnard, and Dale Barnard. Honorary Pallbearers are: he Deacons of Farley Street Baptist Church and a very special friend Orville Stanton. Interment will follow at Red Oak Cemetery, Red Oak.
