Jakob William "Junkyard Jake" Rogers, left this life with his girlfriend, Autumn Rose, on August 14, 2016 in Lindale, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 2 PM in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel in Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Jakob was born on September 17, 1997 in Dallas, Texas to Dana Catherine Files and Gary Dwayne Rogers. He went to Quest School and finished his high school classes before Thanksgiving of 2015 and walked the stage with Red Oak High School in June of this year. He was proud that he finished school early and received his high school diploma. Jakob was in the ROTC for 2 years and was a member of The Venture Crew for 3 years. He worked at Reindeer Manor for 5 years and loved it along with anything that was John Deere. He had so many friends and he truly loved them all. His friends weren't just friends, they were family. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was like a chameleon and could fit in anywhere. He was always willing to help someone out in need. Jakob was a confident, content and independent young man who really had no fear. When he and his brothers were 4 and 5, they were jumping off the cliffs at Lake Whitney and had a blast doing it. They were definitely "lake babies". From jumping off the cliffs of Lake Whitney to climbing roofs, one thing never changed; the love and respect he had for his Momma and people in general. Jakob was an awesome father, son, brother and friend. Only God knows how much his family will truly miss him.
He is survived by his mother, Dana Files and "Pops" Keith Phipps; daughter, Catherine Rose Alexander; siblings, Courtney Files, Joshua Rogers and Brandon Phipps; grandparents, Ronnie and Catherine Files, Larry Sweat and Brenda Duncan and Donna Sweat; aunts and uncles, Jeffery and Patricia Files, David and Angela Sweat, Dinah McCoy and Joseph Cokes and Lori and Joe Green; brother in-law, Derek Hill; sister in-law, Danielle Stroud; nephew, Colton James Files; and numerous cousins and dear friends.
Jakob was preceded in death by his father, Gary Dwayne Rogers; brother, "AJ" Aaron James Jones; and niece, Peyton Pope.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kyle Cooper, Brian Black, Trett Scott, Bobby Bailey and Tony Edmison.
