Jackie Fred Nichols went to be with the lord on July 5, 2024. Jackie was born on April 25, 1949, in Murphy North Carolina to parents Doc Presley Nichlos and Ila Mae Walls Nichols. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Dianne Nichols, son Shane Nichols, and granddaughter Miranda Braden all of Waxahachie, TX. His 3 sisters Earnesteen Sharp of Weatherford, TX, Barbara Mckay and Elwanda Burell of Georgia, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by parents Doc and Ila Nichols, daughter Jessica Nichols Braden, and his 2 sisters Eva Norma Lee Nichols Maldin and Betty Lou Nichols Wilson.
Jackie grew up in Hiawassee, GA, and graduated from Towns County High School, in 1970. After high school, he went on to graduate from 2 different automotive technical schools. Jackie was a long-time employee of Dart for 27 years before retiring. Dianna and Jackie are both long-term members of The Avenue Church, where he served as a deacon since 2013. He enjoyed greeting people at the doors of the avenue and loved talking to everyone. Along with his love for church and the lord he also loved cars. He was an avid NASCAR fan, during racing season you could find him in front of the T.V. urging his favorite of the day on. When it wasn't racing season you could find him watching his old western shows or getting western books at Sims Library. One of his favorite things to do though was go up to his good friend Joe's shop and work on his classic cars all day. He was such a kind and loving man and will be greatly missed.
