Mr. Mathis passed away Thursday. He was born in Waxahachie, Texas to Athie Mathis and Opal (Mathers) Mathis.

Mr. Mathis is survived by his sons, Jackie Mathis from Saginaw, Texas: Frankie Mathis from Ft. Worth, Texas; Noah Tallent from Saginaw, Texas; Daughters, Theresa Brackeen of Hurst, Texas; Kimberly Aguirre of Blue Mound, Texas; Jackie Lynn Mathis of Las Vegas, Nevada; brothers, Jimmy Lon Mathis of Corrigan, Texas; Robert Mathis of Ft. Worth, Texas; sisters, Carla (Tiney) Edelmann of Rice Texas; Verna Sapolio of Grandview, Texas, thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends and family, Saturday from 6-8 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The celebration of his life is Sunday July 24, 2005 at 2:00 PM at Pat Boze Memorial Chapel. Pallbearers will be David Aguirre, Christopher Mathis, Robert Compton, Greg Compton, Tommy Freeman. Interment will follow at Waxahachie City
Cemetery. Officiating is Reverend Benjamin Ochoa.


Arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
