Jack Pogue

Jack Dwight "DP" Pogue, of Waxahachie, Texas passed away Friday, February 21, 2014 in Waxahachie, Texas surrounded by family and friends. He was born on June 02, 1932 in Ovilla, Texas to Aubrey & Mattie Billingsley Pogue. Dwight graduated from Lancaster High School & served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956, then graduated from North Texas State in 1959. DP was in the real estate and insurance business for years in DeSoto. He was on the Board of Directors for DeSoto State Bank and Bank of DeSoto respectively. DP loved to be with family and friends. He loved life and always made people feel comfortable, never met a stranger and had a wonderful sense of humor. His "second love" was collecting classic cars. DP always had a beautiful shiny car in his garage. He loved spending time at the Waxahachie Lake and eventually ended up retiring there. Dwight is survived by his loving wife, Linda, their daughters, Tana Floyd of Waxahachie, Marti Pogue Walsleben of Sarasota, Florida, grandchildren: Jacob Miller, Blacey Turk and Molli and Maddi Walsleben and three great grandchildren. Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 25, 2014 graveside at the Shiloh Cemetery in Ovilla, Texas with Dalvin Hampton officiating. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society in Dwight's name. Arrangements are under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie, Texas.
