Jack W. "Paw Paw" Jones
May 17, 1930-April 8, 2009
Jack Jones, 78, passed away in his home, Wednesday, April 8, 2009.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother, and wife Eva. Jack was born in Clearfield County PA on May 17, 1930 to Mary and John Jones. He was the elder of two children.
Jack loved eating and learned to cook early in life. Some of his favorite recipes were from his Russian heritage.
Jack received an honorable discharge at the rank of Staff Sergeant from the US Air force in 1952. He was a Shriner and a member of the local Waxahachie lodge. He was also a faithful member of Ferris Avenue Baptist Church.
Jack was an avid reader and always had a book in hand. He loved traveling and had traveled throughout the world during his time in the Air Force. In the states, Jack had travelled to 43 with his grandson T.J.
In his younger years, Jack loved to dance and was an excellent country and western dancer. He was the ultimate urban cowboy.
Visitation is at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home on Friday, April 10, 2009 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home at 2:00 PM. Interment to follow at Itasca Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Aday, Raffael Rutigliano, Rusty Hudson, Heath Jackson, Gordon Brunson, Tom Coleman, Mark Fincher, and Todd Attalla.
Jack Jones had many passions in life, God and his family being top on the list. He leaves behind 4 children, Mike & Shirley Jones of Carrollton, TX, Jan & Pat Merrill of Waxahachie, TX, Tommy & Tracy Jones of Waxahachie, TX and Jeri & Mike Mahoney also of Waxahachie, TX. Jack had 5 grandchildren, Cody Jones, Jackie Foster, T.J. Jones, Haley Hudson, and Bailey Jones. 3 great grandchildren, Karly, Kaleigh, & Kylar. Jack also had several special step-grandchildren & great grandchildren. He also left behind his favorite girls, Punkin, Lady, & Prissy.
Jack "Paw Paw" Jones will be terribly missed by all who encountered him. He was a very special man and well loved. We love you and miss you Paw Paw, but know you are at peace in your rightful home with mom.
The family will be at the home of Pat and Jan Merrill.
