Jack Edward Hood was part of the greatest generation, a World War II veteran. He was born on September 13, 1927 and passed away on November 20, 2019. He was preceded in death by Gwen, his beloved wife of 66 years, in 2016.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Karla K. Finta and her husband, Csaba G. Finta and step grandchildren Edward Finta and Robert Finta and their families. He is also survived by his son, Jack “Rusty” Hood III, his wife, Cyndi, granddaughter, Laura Hood Hesse, her husband, Jon Hesse, and their children, Delaney and Isaac. Also, survived by his grandson, Brian Hood and his son, Jaxon and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jack retired as a manager from AT&T in 1987 after 40 years and a member of the Telephone Pioneers. He was also a member of the NRA and Ducks Unlimited. He was an elder at Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Ovilla, Tx.,and was previously a member of Wynnewood Presbyterian Church in Dallas, Tx. He loved his Scottish heritage, his family, his church, and all of his neighbors around the Evergreens.
The family wishes to express their thanks to his loving caregivers and for the love and support of all of his special friends.
