Jack Boone, 94 of Waxahachie, departed this world to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, October 31, 2015. He was born in Dimmit, Texas August 10, 1921 to Webster and Clara Fay Boone. Leaving behind to forever love and cherish his memory are his daughters, Venita Phillips and husband, Howard of Waxahachie; Linda Bledsoe of Plano and Jackie Smith and husband, Charles of Midland; he also leaves behind his grandchildren, Sondra Gonzales and husband, Robert, Terry Hill and wife, Becki, David Hill and wife, Kelli, Laura Villarreal and husband, James, Hollye Hughes and husband, John, all of Waxahachie, Alan Bledsoe and wife Kristi of Frisco, Kathy Swinney and husband, John of Dallas, Ronnie Smith and wife, Melissa of Bonner Springs, Kansas, Richard Smith, Angela Smith and husband, Thomas of Midland; he is also survived by 40 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; and has a very special puppy, Mickey. Jack worked for Halliburton Corporation for 30 years throughout West Texas, New Mexico, Tripoli, Libya and Iquitos, Peru. He enjoyed fishing, watching the Houston Astros, Texas Rangers, Texas Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys. Jack lived in Round Rock, Texas and was married to Rosa Boone for 34 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Webster Boone; his mother, Clara Fay King; his step-father, Sam King; his half-sister, Rusty Bell Boone; his first wife, Laura Boone; his sister, Edith Hodson; and his brother, Charlie Boone. To his honor and God's glory, Jack accepted Jesus Christ as his Saviour and the gift of eternal life in his late 50's and was very instrumental in leading his sister, Edith and brother, Charlie to the Lord in their 80's. Daddy, "Papa Boone", you were greatly loved and will be missed. Prayerfully we will all be together soon. Jack loved the quote from Charles Spurgeon, "Depend upon it, your dying hour will be the best hour you have ever known! Your last moment will be your richest moment, better than the day of your birth, will be the day of your death. It shall be the beginning of Heaven, the rising of a sun that shall go down no more forever." Our family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Penny Arnold, the staff of Brookdale Senior Living Center and the staff of Bristol Hospice Group for their love and care of our precious father, Jack Boone. Services to celebrate Jack's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Pastor Bruce Zimmerman officiating. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery.
