J.A. Hertzog, Jr.

J. A. "Bud" Hertzog, Jr., 80 of Waxahachie, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at his residence. He was born to the late J. A. Hertzog, Sr. and Esther Martin on February 3, 1932 in Columbia , MS . Bud served our country 15 years in the U. S. Air Force and 5 years in the U. S. Army, serving in the Korean and Vietnam War. Bud loved music, working on airplanes and most of all, he loved his family. He was known for his big hugs and his strong hand shake. He will be missed by so many. He is survived by his loving wife, Johnnie Louise Hertzog of Waxahachie; his children, Barbara Ann Teer of Ennis, David Hertzog of Red Oak and Angela Love of Red Oak; he was also survived by 5 step children; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. Bud was preceded in death by his son, Donald Ray Hertzog and also by his daughter, Lisa Hertzog. Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Chaplain Doug Sullivan officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery . Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 20, 2012 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. www.waynebozefuneralhome.com
