Ithel Bradley, Jr.

September 3, 1946 — August 18, 2017

Ithel Dwain Bradley, Jr., known to his friends as Brad, fell asleep in his recliner on this earth and awoke in the loving arms of his heavenly Father Friday, August 18, 2017. He was preceded in death by His father, I.D. Bradley, Sr.

Brad was born September 3, 1946 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He moved with his family to Kansas City, Missouri when he was 3 years old. He joined the U.S. Air Force after graduating from North Kansas City High School in 1964. He served during the Vietnam conflict, mainly on the island of Okinawa. During this time, Brad married the love of his life, Dorothy, on October 28, 1967.
Upon discharge from the service, Brad and Dorothy settled in Austin, TX where he worked for over 30 years as a press operator and night foreman for the Whitley Co. Upon retirement, he and his wife moved to Waxahachie to be closer to their son and family. He was a faithful member of Heritage Baptist Church where he served as deacon and general handyman.

Brad is survived by his mother, Laverne Bradley of Kansas City, MO; His wife of almost 50 years, Dorothy, Waxahachie; his beloved son, Samuel Dwain and wife Crystal of Waxahachie; grandson, Samuel Dwain, Jr, and granddaughter, Grace Elizabeth; His brother Russel Bradley of Kansas City, MO; and his sister Kathryn Drake of Kidder, MO; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
