Irla Nell Riley Lowe

My sweet wife of 31 years, our mother who loved us, our sister and best friend went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, August 13, 2009.
Her battle with cancer took her from us, but delivered her to the waiting loving arms of our elder brother, God's son. We rejoice in her release from this world of toil and pain, and earnestly look forward to the day we all will be reunited with her and all of our dearly departed loved ones together with the LORD.
Irla Nell Lowe was born April 26, 1954 in Sentinel, OK., to Jenny Lois and Ira Thor Riley. The family moved to several communities in Oklahoma following her father's vocation and finally settled for many years in the small town of Meno, OK. She attended and graduated from Ringwood High School in 1972, then attended Philips University in Enid, OK. where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in elementary education in 1976. She was hired by North Enid school and taught second grade through her tenure. Irla met her husband Michael at Central Assembly of God Church in 1977, and the couple married June 3, 1978.
In 1979 her first son, Kenneth was born followed by her second son George in 1983. The couple lived in Enid, OK. until transferring to Dallas, TX. in 1987 to follow Michael's vocation with Southwestern Bell. Irla always felt the call from God to pastor along with her husband, and both became licensed ministers in 1994. In 2001 she and her husband founded an independent church called "Point of Joy and Peace Ministries". The couple was ordained, served as corporate officers and pastors supporting missions to Mexico, Equatorial Guinea-Africa, the local body of Christ in Red Oak and Waxahachie, TX.
Irla was preceded in death by her father, Ira T. Riley in 2006 and her mother, Jenny Lois Riley in 2009. She is survived by her husband, Michael P. Lowe of the home in Pecan Hill, TX.; her sons, Kenneth Riley Lowe and wife Kessie of Mesquite, TX., and George Adam Lowe of the home; three sisters, Leatha Price and husband Roy of Lenoir, North Carolina, Joanna Slagell and husband Dwight of Hydro, OK., Loretta Abercrombie and husband Kurt of McAlester, OK.; her adopted sister in the Lord, Susan Wolbers and husband Randy of Waxahachie, TX.; adopted son and daughter, Eric and Crystal Pillion of Oak Leaf, TX. ; two aunts, Erma Nell Kay of Sparta, TN, and Opal Cooper of Decatur, AL. her uncle Thomas Sharp and wife Margaret of Coleman, TX.; nine nieces and nephews, six cousins and a host of dear friends accumulated over her lifetime. She will be missed.
The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Friday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home, Waxahachie, TX. 75165.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Saturday, August 15, 2009 also at Wayne Boze Funeral Home, 1826 W. Hwy. 287 Business, Waxahachie, TX. 75165 with Reverend Allen Pierce officiating. We will lay our dearest to rest at Red Oak Cemetery, Red Oak, TX. Pallbearers will be Ben Abercrombie, Brett Slagell, Daniel Hensley, Eric Pillion. Kaleb Abercrombie, Keith Chastain and Tommy Dean.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for the memorial monument. Donations can be made to Michael Lowe.

Cancer is so limited.....
It cannot cripple LOVE.
It cannot shatter HOPE.
It cannot corrode FAITH.
It cannot destroy PEACE.
It cannot wipe out CONFIDENCE.
It cannot kill FRIENDSHIP.
It cannot suppress MEMORIES.
It cannot silence COURAGE.
It cannot invade the SOUL.
It cannot steal ETERNAL LIFE.
It cannot conquer the SPIRIT.
