Edna Irene Duke went home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday morning, January 14, 2016 at Covenant Place, Waxahachie, Texas. She was born August 12, 1927 in Peeltown, Texas to John and Rebecca Elizabeth (Allen) Beets. Irene played basketball for the Avalon High School where she graduated. She was married to Charles Duke, an Ellis County Farmer. She retired from Haggar, Waxahachie. Mrs. Duke was a longtime member of the Farley Street Baptist Church, having joined there in January, 1958. She loved Jesus, her family, her church, shopping for clothes and shoes, and butterflies and pigs. Her survivors are: Son, Larry Feaster; Grandson, Blanton Feaster, his wife, Jaime and their son, Parrish; Granddaughter, Natalie Needham, her husband, David, and their sons, Case and Carson, all of Waxahachie, Texas.She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Friday, January 15, 2016 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home, Waxahachie. The Celebration of her Life will be 2 PM Saturday, January 16, 2016 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Richard Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Red Oak Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Hogan, Jason Hogan, Loyd Chapman, David Needham, Parrish Feaster, Case Needham and Carson Needham. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dana Sherrell, Paula Sargent, Tre Sargent, Miriam Moore and Ida Sanders.
