Imogene Buie

April 12, 1928 — March 16, 2017

Imogene (Sneed) Buie , 88,was born on April 12, 1928 in DeKalb, Texas to Marvin and Luella (Hanson) Sneed. She passed away on March 16, 2017 at Red Oak Health and Rehabilitation Center. Family visitation will be Friday, March 24, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie, Texas.

Imogene grew up in Conroe, Texas and graduated from Conroe High School. She graduated from a business college before marrying and starting a family. She, then, went to work in the insurance business. She and her family moved to Midland in 1957. She was employed with Luttrell Insurance Agency for 41 years until her retirement. She was a past president of the Midland Insurance Women's Organization. She was a longtime member of Wilshire Park Baptist Church in Midland and taught Sunday school there.

Upon retirement, she moved to Red Oak to be with her daughter and son-in-law. Imogene was an active member at Park Meadows Church in Waxahachie until failing health became prevalent. She was a lady of great faith and an avid Bible scholar.

Imogene is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Donna and Ed Cox of Red Oak; and daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Jim Atwater of Midland. She is survived by three grandsons: Brent Cox and spouse Neal Eaton of Richardson; Lee Atwater and wife Kathleen of Midland; and Chad Atwater and wife Melissa of Midland. Also surviving are eight great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren all of Midland and Matt Booth whom she considered a grandson.

Imogene was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, M.L. and Grace Sneed and the father of her daughters, Edwin R. Buie.

Pallbearers will be Brent Cox, Lee Atwater, Chad Atwater, Micah Atwater, Neal Eaton, Matt Booth and Matt Bridges.

Imogene was a loving and generous person for her entire life.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Red Oak Health and Rehab and Hospice Plus for their compassionate care for our Mom. Our sincere appreciation is extended to special caregiver and friend, Rochelle Horton.
