Mrs. Phillips passed away Thursday evening at Baylor Medical Center in Waxahachie.
Mrs. Phillips was born in Winkler,(Freestone Co.) Texas to Carson and Neeta (Compton) Allen. She attended school in Italy, Texas and married Earnest Phillips June 6, 1926 in West, Texas. She worked alongside Earnest and the kids in the cotton and corn fields. Mrs Phillips retired from the Italy Sewing factory after 20 years of Service. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Italy where she taught Sunday School for many years and instructing the Ministers in their sermons. She love to sing, play the piano, and loved helping people. She enjoyed making crafts and things selling them for church donations. She never hesitated to tell you how she really felt.
She is survived by 3 daughters: Mary Neeta Tollett and her husband Byron of Carrollton, Ann Bell and her husband Garlin of Waxahachie, Elaine Richards and her husband Greg of Italy, one son Billy J Phillips of Cairo, Georgia. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; Sandra Bigham and her husband Paul, Deloris Shaw and her husband Darrell, Anita Loraine Stene and her husband Luther, Jackie Roach and her husband Jay, Taffy Ann Johnson and her husband Buddy, Troy Bell and his wife Donna, Michele Walton, Allen Richards and his wife Tina, 25 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 4 brothers, 1 sister, 2 sons; Richard Earl Phillips (1949), Carl Allen Phillips (1959).
The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 to 8 PM Monday evening at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Italy with Brother Ronnie Dabney officiating. Interment will follow in the Italy Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Larry Norcross, Joe Bradley, Michael Chambers, Jerry Bell, Joe Stuard, Fred Weidner.
The family request donations to the Italy First Baptist Church Blding Fund, Texas Baptist Home for Children or Farley Street Baptist Church Blding Fund.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
