Ida Dell Swinney, age 98

Mrs. Swinney of Waxahachie passed away late Monday evening at Baylor Medical Center Waxahachie. She was born in Lockesburg, AR. to Pinkney Edward and Eugenia Clay (Zachary) Corley. She was a seamstress and a member of the Ferris Heights United Methodist Church in Waxahachie.

Mrs. Swinney is survived by: daughters, Louise Wakefield of Red Oak, and Betty Roden of Waxahachie; daughter-in-law, Charlotte McAdams of Waxahachie; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; twelve grandchildren and numerous great, and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse of 50 years, Floyd Monroe Swinney in 1977; son, Earl Swinney in 2002; son-in-law, Thomas L. Wakefield in 1988; eight brothers and one sister.

The family will receive friends 7-9 PM Wednesday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
The Celebration of Life will be 2 PM Thursday in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Dr. Joe Langley officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park.
