Ida Faye Harder
1926 – 2021
Ida Faye Harder, 95 of Whitney and formerly of Ovilla, went to be with the Lord on Monday morning, October 25, 2021. She was born in Dallas, Texas to Luther D. and Mary (Jamison) Batson on August 23, 1926. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 29, 2021, at Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie, Texas with Rev. Don Ricks officiating. Burial following at Methodist Cemetery in Ovilla, Texas.
She was united in marriage to William James Curry on June 27, 1942. They lovingly raised four children together. Ida worked as a homemaker, seamstress and for Red Oak ISD.
On September 1, 1999, Ida united in marriage to John Lee Harder of Ovilla, TX. Upon both retiring from Red Oak ISD, they moved to Peoria, TX. where they enjoyed the country life.
Ida will be greatly missed. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. She loved the Lord with all her heart. Earth lost an angel and heaven gained a saint.
Preceding her in death were: her parents, Luther and Mary Batson; husband, William Curry; daughter, Christie Curry; husband, John Harder; sister, Beulah Woodard; sister, Frances Bryant Crawford.
Survivors include: her children, Barbara Brown and husband Glenn, Douglas Curry, Billy Curry, Perry Curry and wife Vicki; brother Luther Batson Jr. and wife Barbara; 12 grandchildren, Kim Patty, Scott Brown, Patti Jordan, Lue Wright, Lisa Curry, Rhonda Rainwater, Candie Curry, Jay Curry, Josh Curry, Nikki Odom, Lorri Smith and Derek Curry; 17 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.
