Mr. Edwards passed away Sunday morning at Methodist Hospital, Dallas. He was born in Dallas to Hughie Lee, Sr. and Margaret (Payne) Edwards. He married Teresa Coffey December 23, 1998 in Ovilla. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Waxahachie.

Mr. Edwards is survived by: his wife, Teresa Kaye Edwards of Waxahachie; one step-son, Kyle Swanner, also of Waxahachie; mother, Margaret Allen of Marietta, OK.; mother-in-law, Wanda Coffey of Ovilla; one brother, Delbert Daughtery and his wife Melvina of Marietta, OK.; four brothers-in-law, Oran Glynn Coffey and his wife Lisa of Grandview, John Hall and his wife Glenda of Waxahachie, Phillip Coffey and his wife Cynthia of Leonard, Tom Dickert and his wife Lisa of Ovilla, ; numerous nieces and nephews and his dog, Gracie, of 18 years. He was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Daughtery; sister-in-law, Mary Mahone; father, Hughie Lee Edwards, Sr.; and step father, Horace Allen.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-9 PM Tuesday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 10 AM Wednesday, March 10, 2004 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Gary Bronson officiating. Pallbearers will be Scott McFalls, Tom Dickert, Glenn Alphin, Oran Glynn Coffey, Billy Fred McKay and Barton McMillian. Honorary pallbearers will be Willie Davis, Bill Driscole, Sam Baumgardner, Zelmo Davis, Vernon Coffey, Gene Coffey, John Hall and Sean Daughtery. Interment will follow in Red Oak Cemetery.

Donations may be made to the Ellis County SPCA in memory of Hughie.
