Mr. Martin was born in Ennis, Texas to William and Effie (Hall) Martin. He was a 1949 graduate of Ennis High School. Mr. Martin gained employment with Mobil Oil Company in 1950 and married Billie Sue Camster on July 17, 1951 in Waxahachie, Texas. Mr. Martin retired as a computer support analyst after 42 years of employment. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Waxahachie and the Men's Downtown Bible Class.

He is survived by one son Terry Martin and his wife Sharon of Schertz; two daughters, Patti Youngblood and her husband Tom of Ennis and Carol Willhoite and her husband Bill of Arlington, and sister-in-law Jean Billingsley of Waxahachie. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Sara Ochoa and her husband Jose of Chicago, Illinois, Amanda Yates and her son William of Ennis, Texas, Martin Willhoite and his wife Angela of Houston, and Brooks Willhoite and his fiancee Ryan Haley of Denton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Susie, and 2 brothers, Ed and Robert.

The family will receive friends and family from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Private family services will be scheduled at a later date.

The family requests memorials be made to the Men's Downtown Bible Class, Box 616, Waxahachie, Texas 75168
