Henry Byrd

Henry Vernon Byrd March 18, 1921 September 12, 2011 Born March 18, 1921 in Shreveport, LA and passed away peacefully September 12, 2011. He served his country as a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Force (1942-1946) with the Air Transport Command in the European, North Africa and Middle East Theaters. Retired in 1983 after thirty eight years in military, airline and corporate aviation. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Evelyn Farrar Byrd and two sons, Henry V. Byrd, Jr., and wife Sharon and Charles S. Byrd, two grandchildren, Kristin MacFarland and husband Scott and Karin Byrd as well as two great grandchildren Brady and Kacey MacFarland. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled for Wednesday, September 14, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wayne Boze Funeral Home, Waxahachie. A graveside service with military honors is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 15, 2011 at the Smith Cemetery, Waxahachie. www.waynebozefuneralhome.com
