Helen Vaughn

Helen Jean Vaughn, 86 of Waxahachie, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday morning, January 14, 2016. She was born June 26, 1929 in Midwest, Wyoming to William Henry and Virginia Elizabeth (Holmes) Myers.

Helen is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Odell Vaughn of Waxahachie; her children, Jimmy and wife, Dale Vaughn of Waxahachie, Virginia and husband, Allen Hess of Palmer, Philip and wife, Debra Vaughn of Waxahachie; her grandchildren, James Lee Vaughn, William Brice Vaughn, Philip Loyd Vaughn, Jr., Derick Allen Vaughn; and 5 great grandchildren; she is also survived by her brothers, Ralph and wife, Coralie Myers of Casper, Wyoming, George and wife, Doris of Georgetown, Mass; sister-in-law Eunice Vaughn of Stratford, TX. and several nieces and nephews; also by special extended family, Missy Miller, Johnny Stephens and Bubba Storz.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents, William Henry and Virginia Myers; her sister, Marguerite Harlan; her brother-in-law, Bill Harlan; her sister-in-law, Dorothy and Ardith Rolen; her brother-in-law Haywood Vaughn; also by her son, David Vaughn.

Helen graduated from SAGU. She was a census worker and a church secretary for many years. She was a devoted Christian, a very loving wife, mother and friend. She will forever be missed.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 22, 2016 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.

The Celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Trinity Praise and Worship Church, 802 East Marvin, Waxahachie, Texas 75165. Interment will follow at the Shiloh Cumberland Cemetery, Ovilla.

Those serving as pallbearers include Jimmy Vaughn, Philip Vaughn, Allen Hess, James Lee Vaughn, William Brice Vaughn and Philip Loyd Vaughn, Jr.

Those serving as honorary pallbearers include Johnny Stephens, Scott Kirk, Terry Bell and Jason Vaughn.
