Helen Frances Flowers, 86 of Waxahachie, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2009 at Baylor Medical Center, Waxahachie. She was born to the late Erick and Inga Beckland Johnson on July 30, 1922 in Ft. Worth.
Helen loved her family and spending time with them, especiallly her grandchildren. She enjoyed shopping and cooking. Helen loved the Lord and was a life-time member of Farley Street Baptist Church where she was a member of the Esther Ladies Sunday School class. She loved children and was a Sunday School teacher for 50 years, teaching the 3 year old class. She and her sister, Mary played the accordian and shared many happy times together. Helen was loved and will be missed by so many, especially her love of 68 years, Troy Flowers, who she married on September 22, 1941.
She is survived by her loving husand, Troy Flowers of Waxahachie; her daughter, Carolyn Strength and her husband, Darrell of Waxahachie; her sister, Mary Wheeler of Arlington; her grandchildren, Tina Cobb of Waxahachie, Amy Strength of Waxahachie, Michael Strength and his wife, Jessica of Arlington; great grandchildren, Jordan Ratzman, Taylor Strength, Bailey Strength, and Caleb Strength.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services to celebrate her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 13, 2009 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Smith officiating. Interment will follow at the Sardis Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2009 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
The family has requested that donations please be made to the Farley Street Baptist Church Building Fund, 1116 Brown Street, Waxahachie, Texas 75165.
