Helen Autrey

Helen Juricek Autrey went to be with the Lord on July 23, 2020.  May she rest in peace.  Helen Autrey was born in Ennis, Tx. January 9, 1928 to Rosie (Vrana) and Rudolf Juricek. She attended St. John Catholic School and graduated from Ennis High School in 1945.

She married her sweetheart, Lee Autrey in St. John Nepomuceno Catholic Church August 9, 1947 in Ennis, Tx. They moved to Waxahachie, Tx. In 1949, where they lived until their death, except for 8 years, when they lived in Meridian, Tx. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1997 and in October 2005, she lost the love of her life to cancer.

Helen was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grand-Mother, Great Grand-Mother, Sister, Aunt and a friend to many. She was a faithful woman and loved her creator and savior. She loved her family dearly.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waxahachie, Tx. Since 1949. St. Joseph’s Alter Society many years, Legion of Mary (Auxiliary member, KJLT Society #16 (Catholic Fraternal of Texas) and Rosary Group.

She loved quilting, sewing, gardening, dancing and having her family around every holiday and playing “chicken foot” with her dear friends Chris English, Pat Grassmusk, Virginia Lobb, Addie Ryan, and recently deceased Carrie Valenta and Bianca Grossweiler.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, Lee Autrey; her parents Rosie and Rudolf Juricek; three sisters, Georgie Olquitt, Emilie Harrison and Angeline Juricek; a daughter, Noreene Pierce and her husband Billy; one son, Jerry Autrey and his wife Barbara, son-in-law Tom Bow, and numerous Brother and Sister-in-Laws, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

She has three surviving children; Nancy Bow of Waxahachie, Tx.; Betty Fillman and her Husband Lonnie of Alma, AR.; and Peggy Wright and her Husband Randy of Waxahachie, Tx.; seven Grandchildren; Clint and Amy Autrey of Italy, Tx.; Rickey and Amy Brewer of Van Buren, AR.; Stephanie Brewer of Alma, AR.; Ben Bow of Waxahachie, Tx.; Amanda and Kenny Weaver of Waxahachie, Tx.; Patrick and Emily Wright of Waxahachie, Tx. and Kevin and Lacey Wright of Waxahachie, Tx.; eighteen Great Grandchildren; Ainsley, Madison and Abby Brewer; Tilman, Holland and Mia McClendon; Lacy, Cole and Stone Weaver; Carly, Cla, Austin and Adam Autrey; Levi, Marshall, Oakley and Nash Wright and Wrenlee Moon; one brother; Wesley Juricek and wife Norma of Ennis, Tx.; three sisters; Rosie Ferguson of Wills Point, Tx., Lucy Honza of Ennis, Tx. And Geraldine Autrey of El Paso, Tx.

A Rosary for Helen will be held at St. Joseph’s Church on Tuesday, July 28th, 2020 at 9:00am followed by Mass. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery will be directly after.
